Rationale Behind Utilization of the Trap-Bar Deadlift:

The Trap-Bar Deadlift is a great exercise to increase quadriceps strength as well as work on the hamstrings, glutes and entire back region. It teaches athletes how to sit back into the hips and how to get into a good squat position.  This is also a much easier exercise to teach than conventional Deadlifts since they pull you forwards where Trap-Bar Deadlifts keep your weight into the hips.
