The Pull-Up is a great exercise for developing overall upper body strength and postural control. It is a great way to build strength in the upper back. By using the flexband when first learning, it allows an athlete to be successful at this very difficult bodyweight upper body exercise. As an athlete becomes more proficient with this exercise, the level of flexband should be decreased until they can attempt it bodyweight. Whenever you attempt this exercise, make sure to not allow the feet to drift forward, but rather keep them under your body to maintain a straight line. However when first progressing to bodyweight pull-ups this can be very difficult.
