February 2010 Exercise of the Month

Major Muscles:

  • Latissimus Dorsi

  • Rhomboids

  • Trapezius

  • Gluteus Maximus

  • Obliques

  • Rectus Abdominis

Rationale Behind Utilization of the Renegade Row:

The Renegade Row is an excellent exercise to increase one’s upper back strength while also requiring a great deal of core strength and stability to maintain a good position. The goal of this exercise is not to allow the hips to twist or feet to come off the ground while doing the exercise, which requires the athlete to keep their glutes and abdominals contracted throughout the movement.
