  • Latissimus Dorsi

  • Rhomboids

  • Rectus Abdominis

  • Obliques

Rationale Behind Utilization of the Sled Pull:

The Sled Pull is an excellent exercise to increase upper body strength, particularly in the upper back, which is needed for postural strength. It is imperative the athlete keep as good as posture as possible in order to properly execute the exercise. Also when doing this exercise the athlete must keep their feet on the ground and not reset/lift them since this will limit their strength and power to pull the sled. Besides standing in an athletic position, you can also sit on the ground with a slight lean back or sit on a tire with the feet inside the tire to pull the sled towards you. All variations add different types of difficulty for the athlete.
