Warm-Up & Cool-Down Information

The main benefit of Warming-Up before a competitive event is to physically and mentally prepare the athlete to skate by increasing range of motion, core body temperature, blood viscosity and heart rate, while helping to control stress levels and to increase level of focus. Based on their skating level and type of skating program (short/long), the skater will spend 20 to 30 minutes performing various drills.

The main benefit of the Cool-Down following competition is accomplished through active range of motion to reduce possible lactic acid accumulation, lower heart rate and relieve any muscle tension.

NOTE: Based upon gate times for competitive skaters I am working with, Warm-Ups & Cool-Downs are subject to availability, if there is a potential conflict I will notify you before the competition. In the case of a conflict, a warm-up program is available for skater's to utilize on their own at competitions.
